What is Fire Exploring?

The Mascoutah Fire Department Explorer Post is a career exploration program designed to give young adults hands-on experience in the fire service. Our program introduces participants to all aspects of firefighting, emergency medical services, and fire prevention.

Explorers work alongside our firefighters, learning valuable skills while developing leadership, teamwork, and discipline that will serve them throughout their lives โ€” whether they pursue a career in the fire service or any other field.

Our program is part of the Learning for Life / Exploring program, a national career education program for young adults.
